This weekend, whether you’re feeling the love or loving yourself, the city’s best bars and restaurants have a host of Valentine’s Day specials to make your holiday that much more delicious. Here, a few of our favorite ways to treat your date right (even if your date is…you).
Kick off the love-fest on Thursday at Oyster House, where Sam Mink and Co. will reprise their popular Shuck Buddies Happy Hour. From 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., buck-a-shuck oysters will be served with $3 pours of Yards Brewing Company’s Love Stout in four flavors: classic (available at Oyster House year-round) as well as chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Then, on Friday, head to Tria Taproom for a happy hour featuring Mike Fava of Oxbow Brewing from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
On Saturday, the biggest dilemma is choosing just one place to visit. We’re proponents of a Valentine’s Day Crawl to experience all of the special dishes our favorite chefs will be sharing. Start the night at Bardot, where Chef Rhett Vellner will offer a selection of holiday specials that may include Cocoa Spaghettini with duck heart ragu, butternut squash and sage and Butter-Poached Lobster with fennel, salsify and lentils. Then, swing by Tria for specials on sparkling wines and cheeses – a perfect couple if e’er there was one. For more great off-menu options, there’s the always-reliable Fork, where Chef Eli Kulp will be complementing his a la carte menu with festive plates and hearty for-two feasts. If you find yourself out of town, head for the new Pietro’s Birreria Pizzeria in nearby Radnor for a flight of four chocolate beers for just $14.
The next day, swing into Cuba Libre for their Champagne Punch Brunch, with pitchers of cocktails available at special prices to complement their popular a la carte menu. Because nothing says “I love you” like a full weekend of gluttony. At least as far as we’re concerned.
