Here at ProTip, we don’t take kindly to being out-punned. Unless, of course, those puns come courtesy of the curd nerds at Di Bruno Bros. – and translate into new and delicious ways to enjoy cheese. To that end, we’re proud to find ourselves smack-dab in the gooey, delicious center of American Cheese Month, with two tempting new ways to get a cheese fix from our favorite culinary pioneers.
First, there’s the debut of Wynd in the Willough, the first in an ongoing series of collaborations between Di Bruno Bros.’ aging experts and top-notch cheesemakers; this one is Jasper Hill Farms’ Willoughby, washed in Wyndridge Farm’s Crafty Hopped Cider and custom-aged to funky, cider-y perfection. Available at most Di Bruno Bros. retail locations and online, the cheese is a natural pairing with a bottle of the York, PA-based cider, and makes for a far more compelling taste of autumn than yet another artificially flavored pumpkin spice latte. Forthcoming collaborations include Whiskey Business, a whiskey-washed cheese that we will be pairing with a pour on the rocks. Yummy aged cheeses and liquor that stings; these are a few of our favorite things…
And we’ll be sure to pick up a wheel or a wedge of Wynd in the Willough during this Saturday’s #FallCheeseCrawl, a city-wide Di Bruno Bros.-stravaganza featuring cheese samples, tasty beverage pairings, artisanal snacks and an end-of-crawl Block Party at Di Bruno Bros.’ Italian Market shop. For $20 per person, enjoy snacks and entertainment at every Di Bruno Bros. location and earn stamps on your cheese crawl map to redeem for food or drink at the block party. Just don’t get in our whey when it’s time for “Cheese Whiz” Quizzo. Ba-dum bum.
