If You Stay…
Here in Philadelphia, some of our favorite chefs are getting in on the Easter action. London Grill will complement their a la carte brunch and dinner menus with Chef Michael McNally’s festive holiday specials, and is an especially great choice for large groups, so don’t fret if your siblings show up at your door unexpectedly with all of their kids in tow. Le Virtù and Brigantessa will celebrate the Italian Pasqua tradition with special holiday dishes from Chef Joe Cicala, who was recently nominated for a James Beard Award for “Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic.” If you prefer to dine at home, the culinary pioneers at Di Bruno Bros. have assembled a bountiful assortment of seasonal gifts and goodies, ranging from traditional Easter sweets, such as Italy’s Colombe cake, to deep-dish ham pie (or pizza rustica) to massive, hand-painted chocolate eggs from local chocolatier Tradestone Confections.

If You Go…
Outside of the city, the options are similarly excellent. Beginning at 2 p.m., both Estia Taverna locations will serve a traditional Greek Easter feast, with a choice of two soups, a crisp chopped romaine salad with dill and scallions, roasted lamb with Greek-style oven-roasted potatoes and two desserts, Koulourakia sesame cookies and Galactobourico semolina custard in house-made phyllo dough, for $65 per person. Iron Hill is bringing back their famous Sunday Prime Rib Special at all of their locations, exclusively on Easter Sunday, and only as long as supplies last – which won’t be long, considering its a choice of 14- or 18-oz. prime rib au jus, served with traditional sides, plus a choice of soup or salad and a pint of house beer or a glass of house wine. Get there promptly at 12 noon to secure your steak. On the Atlantic coast, Chef Tim Hamill and his team will host a lavish brunch buffet in the gorgeous ballroom at SAX at The Reeds at Shelter Haven. For $40 per adult or $20 per child 12 and under (children 3 and under are free!), you’ll enjoy a bountiful feast featuring interactive omelet and waffle stations, a carving station and more, all overlooking the peaceful cove.
